I think it's working
Moonbat education update.
I think it's working, if you define "working" by pissing someone completely off.
So anyway, for the past couple of weeks, I've been trying to help a co-worker get over being stuck on stoopid, and he's been quite surly all week. So I print out today's most excellent VDH column, slap it on the copier and make a few copies for the crew here.
I drop it on his desk, and before I could sit back down, his copy comes back over the cube wall. "You no want?" I axed.
"I've got far better things to do with my time than read that sort of bullsiht!" he hissed.
Then he went on, informing me that ".....I should really broaden my horizons and read something other than the 'limited collection of neo con ashsoles' and should read up on what the other side has to say 'cause it would open my eyes to what's really going on in this country' and I'm never going to see that or learn anything as long as I'm a GWB apologist and if all I read is "right wing cr*p". That's the short version, he went on for 10 or 12 minutes.
I pointed out that 1. I do read the left end of the blogosphere (DU, kos, Atrious, et. al.) and B. all I need to do to hear the other side's point of view is to pick up a newspaper, magazine, or turn on the TV and 3. if he was paying attention to the links I've been sending him, almost all of them are right-leaning libertarian blogs, not cheerleaders for the Bush administration.
There is more to the story worth re-telling here, but I'm tired of typing and it's time for lunch. I reserve the balance of my time and the right to revise and extend my remarks at a future time.
Fine. Stay stuck on stupid. It's a free country. But I'm not kidding when I say there will be exams on this material. It says so right there in your syllabus: the mid-term exam is on 7 November 2006 and the Final exam for this term in on 4 November 2008.
