Six Degrees of Separation

and all that crap
so anyway, my planned blog-burst didn't quite come off as planned. Sorry. To boot, I'm comfortably at home tonight (thank you very much) instead of in Grand Island, Nebraska; the business trip got cancelled at the last minute.
Yet, I'm blogging anyway! Will wonders never cease?
As a jaded long-time news-junkie, I didn't think much of the crash of Flight 5191 in Lexington, KY when I first heard of it; it wasn't until late last night that it hit home when I realized that I "knew" someone who was directly related to the some of the passengers. Steve H. Graham, the proprietor of the outstanding Hog on Ice, lost a cousin-in-law in the crash; Steve's father's college classmate and wife were also on the ill-fated flight.
You are reading Hog on Ice every day, right? Steve is "good people", writing quality stuff on a daily basis. Please, do go give him some love. I've been reading Hog on Ice forever, he's been on the blogroll since Day One 'round these parts. Flight 5191 went from "random disaster" to hitting a lot closer to home, once I realized that someone I "knew" was directly affected by the crash.
Long time readers will know that "prayers" are not exactly my cup of meat; but do keep Steve and his family and their loss in you thoughts.
More soon.
